Develop Leather and PU Versions of One Jacket Design
You can develop leather and PU versions of one jacket design, but each version needs its own material and construction decisions. We can discuss the shared silhouette alongside the shell, lining, fastening and fit differences. This page helps you compare complete versions for your collection, so the choice is based on how the finished jackets look and handle, not only on swatch colour or material price.

Two Material Versions with Separate Approvals
Relia manufactures leather, PU and mixed-material jacket designs for overseas buyers. Relia can organise the two versions around a shared design brief while keeping their component identities and sample approvals distinct.
The Surface Needs Its Own Reference
A leather version and a PU version can share a design language without sharing every production setting. Drape, edge thickness and the behaviour of a sewn fold may change. Keep the same visible collar, pocket and hem targets, then review the material-specific construction needed to achieve them in each sample.
Adapt Construction to Each Shell Material
Relia reviews the actual leather and PU combinations at the same garment details: collar folds, pocket openings, seam junctions and fastening attachments. The materials may differ in thickness, stretch and surface response, so the seam preparation and handling need to suit each version. The design line can remain recognisable while the construction details are adjusted to produce the intended result.
Identify the silhouette, visible details and fit intention common to both versions.
Create distinct shell, lining, thread and trim descriptions for leather and PU.
Review representative folded edges, seams and attachments in each material combination.
Compare the finished versions on the same wearer and approve them individually.
Review Fit in Both Versions
Keep a common measurement reference, then review how each sample sits with the intended layers. If a material version needs an adjustment, record it explicitly. The final charts should identify the version they describe.
Shared fit direction and measuring points.
Review each selected material.
Document any version-specific change.
Construction Can Change the Visual Result
Review cuffs, facings and pocket edges in each sample. The same drawn line may read differently when the selected material is folded and assembled. Discuss the desired result by component.
Compare the Versions in the Same Fit Review
For an illustrative twin-version racer, compare chest, shoulder, sleeve movement and zip alignment side by side using the same intended underlayer. The comparison shows where a material change alters shape, rather than assuming an identical flat pattern produces an identical wearing result.
Separate material reference.
Shared or version-specific choice.
Type and finish for each version.
Accurate material and product information.
The Complete Samples Support the Buying Decision
- Relia reviews fit and appearance on both completed versions, including seam smoothness, collar shape, front balance and lining room.
- Operate the same fastening details and compare the garment in the same wearing state.
- Keep the accepted leather reference and the accepted PU reference separately identified, so approval of one version does not silently authorise a material or construction substitution in the other.
Quote the Two Versions Clearly
Provide quantities, colours and sizes for each material version. Discuss minimum quantities, sample costs and timing separately where relevant. The project quotation should identify which components and delivery requirements apply to each version.
Leather or PU specification.
Colour-size quantities per version.
Packing and destination requirements.
Send the Design and Both Material Directions
Email Qingdao Relia Jacket Co., Ltd. with the shared design and your two material briefs. We can discuss sample priorities and a production enquiry that keeps the versions clear.
The common silhouette and details.
Two specific shell references.
Proposed quantities for each route.
Start Your Custom Jacket Project
Send the shared design, both material directions, fit requirements and quantities for each version. Relia will discuss the sample, construction and order scope with you. You can email drawings and material references as attachments or share a file link.
Prepare your enquiry in four parts
- Design: Attach your drawing, tech pack or the catalogue reference and mark the changes.
- Materials: State the shell, lining and trims, and whether we source them or you supply them.
- Quantities: Break the planned order down by style, colour and size.
- Destination and timing: Share the delivery destination and intended schedule for discussion.
