Leather Jackets with Specified Fabric Hoods or Sleeve Panels
If your jacket combines leather with a fabric hood, sleeves or inserts, define each component and the join between them before ordering. We can manufacture a mixed-material design using your specified or supplied materials. This page explains how different thicknesses, surface handling and fit requirements are brought together in the pattern, sample and finishing review.

Different Materials in One Pattern
Relia manufactures leather, PU and mixed-material custom jackets for overseas buyers. Relia connects each material with the part it serves in your design, helping the hood, sleeve or insert look integrated with the jacket rather than added as an unrelated component.
The Contrast Can Be Deliberate
A fabric hood or sleeve changes the flexibility and weight next to the leather panels. The join needs to accommodate both materials and retain the intended line. The colour relationship also becomes highly visible at the seam, so compare actual shell and fabric swatches as a pair before settling the garment palette.
Control the Joins Between Different Materials
Relia reviews the material pairing at the actual junction before finalising the assembly. Leather and fabric can feed and extend differently during sewing, so edge lengths, seam preparation and handling need to suit the combination. A fabric hood also changes the neckline layers; a sleeve panel changes the armhole and cuff route. The sample lets those junctions be reviewed in the complete garment.
Identify the shell, fabric panels, hood, lining and trims by material and colour.
Review connected pattern lengths and seam allowances at each material transition.
Coordinate feeding and layer handling so the joined surfaces sit as intended.
Check the attachment, inside finish and movement with all components present.
Each Component Has Its Own Supply Route
You can specify materials for sourcing or supply physical materials yourself. Define the route for leather, fabric and trims separately so the responsibility split matches the actual garment.

The Sample Shows the Material Balance
Review the completed jacket for silhouette, movement and the relationship between contrasting panels. Keep the intended layers visible in the fit discussion. Your finished chart remains the shared dimensional reference.
Keep the Hood and Neckline in Balance
For an illustrative leather-body jacket with a fabric hood, review the hood down, hood up and front fully fastened. The neck seam should carry the selected hood without pulling the leather front out of shape. The sample should use both intended materials so the comparison reflects their actual combined weight.

Review the Attachments Closely
- Relia reviews the mixed-material sample for smooth joins, matched left-right positions and the intended handling of each surface.
- Check for pulling or unevenness at leather-to-fabric transitions, then inspect the reverse side and lining.
- Review the hood or sleeve in use as well as flat; the attachment should be assessed with the full garment and intended layers.
